Colin Macdonald Community School acknowledges the long and complicated history of the Indigenous and Métis Peoples in the Province of Ontario. Our school is situated upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and the Mississaugas. We respect the long-standing relationship with local Indigenous communities, including the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Six Nations of the Grand River.
This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum, which is an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe to share and care for the land together.
We honour this land and its original stewards. We agree to teach and learn the true history of our own backyard.
